The story behind Life Law Love

Everyone has a story to tell.  For a long time, I have wanted to write about my own experiences in the hope that what I have to say may help or inspire someone else on their own journey.

Whether it be sharing my challenges in life, tips on business, or just some of my random 3am thoughts, I hope that you find some useful information here.

When trying to pick a name for my blog, I had a difficult time narrowing down the topic because there are so many things that I am passionate about and experiences I want to share.  “Life Law Love” seemed all encompassing and a reflection on all aspects of my life.  The name gives me the freedom to write about anything and everything.

Like most people, my life is full of great days, challenging days, days when I am inspired and days when all I want to do is binge on Netflix.

The past 8 years as a business owner in law has taught me many things about myself and others, leadership, mentoring, business development and how to be a “good” lawyer.  If you are small business owner, just entering the legal profession or navigating your career progression, or a mum juggling the work/life balance – you will find topics of interest here.

About me - Aleisha MacKenzie

I am a proud mother to twin girls and my 3 step-children (now young adults).  I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, and friend, and I feel so grateful to be close to my family.

I own and manage a law firm in Brisbane alongside my husband.  Our law firm, services the construction industry, and I absolutely love my team and the work that I do.  I have formed some fabulous relationships with colleagues and those in the industry.

As a business owner, lawyer and adjudicator I have the honour of mentoring and leading our team.  I enjoy speaking on topics relevant to my experience and sponsoring numerous industry events, especially those that champion and advocate for women.

It took me a long time to be comfortable in my own skin, but I can proudly say that I am confident in who I am and accept my imperfections.  I embrace and celebrate everyone’s uniqueness, and I am a strong advocate for inclusion and diversity.

I am always looking for ways to grow, and I strive to be the best version of myself so that I can be a positive role model.

I hope you enjoy getting to know me through my blogs and that you gain something from my shared experiences.
